You just need simple ingredients, and you can bake a tasty cake at home. In this blog, I will tell you how to make a simple chocolate cake step by step. I will also share what you need to use and some tips to make your cake even better.

Ingredients
You will need the following ingredients to make this chocolate cake. These are all easy-to-find items. You can buy them from any nearby shop or grocery store.
-
1 cup of all-purpose flour (maida)
-
1 cup of sugar (powdered or fine)
-
½ cup of cocoa powder
-
1 teaspoon of baking powder
-
½ teaspoon of baking soda
-
A pinch of salt
-
2 eggs
-
½ cup of oil (vegetable or sunflower)
-
½ cup of milk
-
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
-
½ cup of hot water
Directions
Step 1: Prepare the baking tin
First, take a baking tin or cake pan. You can use a round or square tin. Grease it with a little oil or butter so that the cake does not stick. Then dust it with some dry flour or place a piece of baking paper inside. Keep it aside.
Step 2: Mix the dry items
Now take a large mixing bowl. Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Mix them all well with a spoon or a whisk. Make sure there are no lumps.
Step 3: Add the wet items
Now break the eggs into a small bowl and beat them lightly. Pour the eggs, oil, vanilla essence, and milk into the bowl with dry ingredients. Mix everything slowly using a whisk or a hand blender. Do not mix too fast. Mix it until the batter becomes smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Add hot water
Boil some water and take half a cup of hot water. Slowly add the hot water to your cake batter. Mix again gently. The batter will now look shiny and a bit thin, but that is okay.
Step 5: Bake the cake
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). If you are using a gas tandoor or OTG, you can preheat it for 10 minutes. Pour the cake batter into the greased tin and tap it gently on the counter to remove air bubbles. Put the tin into the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
Check the cake after 30 minutes. Put a toothpick or knife in the middle of the cake. If it comes out clean, your cake is ready. If it is wet, bake for 5 more minutes.
Step 6: Let the cake cool
Once the cake is ready, take it out of the oven. Keep it on the kitchen counter and let it cool for 15–20 minutes. Do not try to remove it while hot, or it may break. After it cools, take the cake out of the tin.
